“ Went to El Charolais for the first time yesterday (was with a group of friends who call it "El Kroger" due to its proximity to same). Food and service were quite good. I had the Burrito Mojado (pictured), one of the lunch specials, which is a burrito filled with eggs and sausage and covered with cheese, accompanied by rice and beans. Was delicious, and a really hefty portion for the price. I'll have more to say about El Charolais in subsequent visits, but at this point it is the best Mexican food I've had in Johnson City, though thus far I don't have a lot to compare it to other the Amigos, which was pretty good, but not quite up to the standards of El Charolais. ”
“ Top Notch, one place the entire family agrees we love, queso dip, salsa and chips, service is outstanding and the food is so fresh it’s like eating in the kitchen. The staff treat you like family. We don’t talk about the other Mexican restaurants anymore, it’s too painful. Go here, there is a wait sometimes but well worth it and where I come from 1.5 hours can be common so get used to it folks word is getting out. Seriously thought I had reviewed them two years ago but my brain must have kept it secret for me. ”
“ First and most important, our waitress was so incredibly friendly! She was always smiling and was very attentive. The restaurant ambiance is colorful and lots of things to look at while you’re waiting on food. Our chips were fresh as was the salsa. I ordered the Supreme salad, oh my goodness I’ve never had a warm salad but this was delicious! It was packed with chicken, shrimp, beef, broccoli, zucchini, mmmm rice was incredible! My daughters ordered carnitas tacos and a carne enchilada, paired with a radish mix . Both girls were overly full when we left. The check out host was so friendly too! Definitely worth the challenge to park or wait for a seat. Bathroom was also clean and well kept. ”
“ The Salsa is spicy and wasn't a fan of the Al Pastor but the rest of our food has been the best we have had around here. The waitress was very nice and never let my cup go empty! We have finally found our go to Mexican restaurant! ”
